| Good Luck Chuck' a bit of a let down
Life for Chuck has always been average working with his own dental practice. However, commitment issues and a hex that was put on him by a girl from his childhood can make life much more difficult. "Good Luck Chuck" directed by Mark Helfrich and starring Jessica Alba ("Fantastic Four"), Dane Cook ("Employee of the Month," Comedian) and Dan Fogler ("Balls of Fury") is a funny comedy with some interesting content choices. Chuck (Cook) is an all around good guy, but feels that the three significant words "I love you" shouldn't be thrown around, which leads to a world of problems with his relationships. Cam (Alba) is a women working for Aqua World in the penguin habitat putting on shows and answering questions for on looking visitors at the park. She has a great, lively personality, but tends to be incredibly clumsy.

Regals blank Bears in rout
Regina coach Marv Cook had plenty of options when whittling down Friday night's game to a single play that symbolizes the direction his Regal team is heading this fall. There was any one of the four rushing touchdowns that the pounding running game produced. There was the big-play potential displayed by quarterback Nick Lyon's pinpoint 45-yard touchdown pass to receiver Derek Hanrahan. There was the speedy defense that picked off a pair of passes, including Bobby Johnson's 35-yard interception return to the end zone. But the one moment in Friday night's 42-0 Regina homecoming win over BGM that stood out in the coach's mind afterward was a single tackle by senior linebacker Jake Reisen on the final play of the first half that was likely forgotten by most by the start of the third quarter.
She’s the Star Cook
Winchester — B. J. Manuel, 49, of Winchester is the Star Cook of the Week. She writes, "I began cooking when I was in grad school in Salzburg, Austria in 1979-1980. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend an Austrian cooking school while there, and I immediately feel in love with the culinary arts. After Salzburg, I spent time in Athens, Greece, where I was given a whole new outlook on food. I went from the heavy sauces of Bavaria to the fresh herbs and vegetables of the Mediterranean, and you will see both of these influences in this dish. "I come from a long line of great cooks, both my grandmother and mother were instrumental in my cooking style, but my time in Austria and later in Greece had a profound effect on my variations of their old favorites.
Science-fiction flick finally ready to Rock
Last year at Cannes, audiences smelled what The Rock had cooked. And they loathed it. Now two years after it was filmed, the much-delayed apocalyptic science-fiction satire Southland Tales will be released in November. It's the sophomore effort from Richard Kelly, who wrote and directed the cult fave Donnie Darko. "It was the wrong audience for the film, in my opinion," Dwayne (a.k.a. The Rock) Johnson says of the critical lambasting Tales received in France. (One reviewer called it "about the biggest, ugliest mess" he'd ever seen.) .
