Actor highlights aboriginal roles in film

One of Saskatchewan's most talented and well-known actors kicked off the two-week long Aboriginal Arts and Music festival this week. Gordon Tootoosis, who has worked alongside actors such as Brad Pitt, Charlton Heston and Charlize Theron, was part of the in-school tour. He spoke to an eager group of students at St. Mary High School on Monday morning. Tootoosis has worked on movie productions in the United States and Europe as well as Canada. He is best known in Canada for his television role as Albert Golo in North of 60. He was born on the Poundmaker First Nation and is now based in Saskatoon. Of course when the floor opened to questions, the first, from a female student, was what it was like to work with Brad Pitt. Pitt, said Tootoosis, is very ordinary and friendly. He is also very athletic and disciplined.

Theron all praise for Townsend's screenplay efforts

Washington, September 24 (ANI): Actress Charlize Theron has revealed that she found her boyfriend Stuart Townsend's first movie script very impressive.

She revealed that Townsend wrote the screenplay for 'Battle in Seattle', which will also be his directorial debut, at the home they share in Los Angels.

"The amount of passion, of time and effort that he committed to writing that script really blew me away," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

"When you love somebody and you're that close somebody, we always expect the worst because he had never written a script before, but we're very good at kind of separating our work from our relationship so, as a work colleague, when he gave me the script and I read it I wanted to be as honest as I possibly could," she added.

Charlize Theron choose Briel watches

The public was fascinated by the charm of Charlize Theron since her debut in movie land with "2 Days in the Valley" where she played with James Spader, Eric Stolty and Jeff Daniels. Charlize Theron is a South African actress and former fashion model. She is well known for her portrayal of Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster, for which she won an Academy Award. Charlize was model for different brands and fashion houses. Now, she will represent the Italian luxury watch and jewelery brand, Breil Milano. "Ms. Theron was chosen not only for her natural beauty, but because she epitomises the modern woman; a mix of sensuality and determination, sophistication and down-to-earth attitude, elegance and simplicity," said a spokesperson for the label. .

Charlize Theron is very politically aware

Washington, Sept 23 (ANI): Being born in a political turbulent country like South Africa has made Charlize Theron very 'politically aware', and has taught her to question authority.

Theron revealed that she is a keen observer of the U.S presidential elections, and insisted that growing up in South Africa was a reason for it. "I'm very politically aware. I don't think I can be one of those people that can walk around with blinders on. I question authority, question what the government is doing, and I think that is an incredibly patriotic thing to do. I think if I didn't care I wouldn't ask any questions," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

"I love America and love living in this country. And I think, maybe coming from a country like South Africa, and being used to political turmoil, that's just the way, I grew up.

Paul Haggis, Director of In the Valley of Elah , Discusses Hidden Impacts of Iraq War

After finishing his Academy Award-winning Crash in 2003, Paul Haggis decided to start work on a film about the Iraq War. Studios would not get near the project, but with the help of Clint Eastwood, Haggis was able to get In the Valley of Elah funded. Tommy Lee Jones, Charlize Theron, and Susan Sarandon are exemplary in this film about a father's search for his missing Iraq veteran son. Some critics have called it too “on the nose" politically; others call it too obtuse. Right-wing groups have called it “bin Laden cinema." In my opinion, it's one of the best films of the year, recalling John Ford's The Searchers and Antonioni's Blow-Up — and the movie couldn't be timelier. I sat down with Haggis to discuss his film.
