Diddy's scent is one-night-stand smell: Mariah Carey

Washington, Sept 27 (ANI): Singer Maria Carey has responded to Sean 'Diddy' Combs' statement that his new fragrance Unforgivable is better than her M by dismissing his scent as a 'one-night-stand smell'.

Diddy challenged Carey by calling her and other celebs for a Pepsi-style smell test open to the public during a recent TV appearance in America.

However, Carey is the first celebrity to respond to the challenge.

"I heard about this competition, and I wish Puff (Combs) all the best with his new fragrance," Contactmusic quoted Carey, as saying.

"I think we're actually appealing to different types of women. M by Mariah Carey is about being unforgettable, not unforgivable.

"It's not about a menage a trois or a one night stand, it's for the woman who wants the man to fall in love with her immediately, stay in love, and treat her like royalty," she added.

Separation could have saved my marriage to Tommy Mottola: Mariah Carey

Washington, Sept 25(ANI): Had Mariah Carey and her ex-hubby music mogul Tommy Mottola agreed for a trial separation, they would have still been together, the singer reveals.

Carey said that her marriage had too many boundaries for her and she needed a break.

"Maybe it's for my own good that I wasn't allowed to do those things, but that's not how it felt," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

Mariah claimed that her husband stopped her from even visiting the spa with her friends.

"I understand him not wanting me to go out and hang out all night, but going to a spa with friends every now and then, or doing things on my own would have made a world of difference," she said.

"I'd probably still be with him if I had. I felt like suddenly I had a strict father.

Mariah Carey Wins In Court; Plus Marc Ecko, Notorious B.I.G., Michael Vick, Lil Wayne, Smashing Pumpkins & More, In ...

Mariah Carey got a win in court last week when a federal judge decided that a copyright-infringement case against her had no merit. Singer Rachele Chafir had sued Carey in April 2006, claiming that Carey's hit "It's Like That" was copied from her song "Sexy" and lifted key pieces, including the music, for the chorus. Chafir, who copyrighted the song in 2004, claimed Carey had access to "Sexy" since it was available on a Web site, but U.S. District Court Judge Kimba Wood decided that wasn't proof Carey or her collaborators had gone to the Web site or lifted the material, which wasn't "strikingly similar" enough to be considered infringement. With "no genuine issues of material fact," Wood closed the case. "It was the right decision," Carey's lawyer Ilene Farkas told MTV News. "The record was clear in this case." Meanwhile, Carey is moving on with her yet-untitled follow-up to The Emancipation of Mimi, which her record label confirmed is now due December 4.

Wentworth Miller credits Mariah Carey

Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has said that he owes his current success to Mariah Carey. The Hollywood hunk plays brooding protagonist Michael Scofield in the hit US drama.

However, before he was chosen for the role, the gorgeous actor was handpicked by pop singer Mariah for her 2005 video We Belong Together.

Wentworth insists that the music video placed him well and truly in the media spotlight and that he would not be where he is today if not for Mariah.

'Mariah's an international icon,' he explained.

'The two days I spent working on her video did more for my career, gave me more exposure, than anything I'd done before Prison Break. I'm grateful for the opportunity.'

In a recent interview with German magazine InStyle, Wentworth also revealed that he would love to have a girlfriend and start a family, but that his career takes priority at the moment.

Jamelia denies calling Leona Lewis "poor man's Mariah Carey"

Washington, Sept 26(ANI): British pop star Jamelia has written an open letter to her fans accusing a magazine journalist of fabricating her attack on 'X-Factor' winner Leona Lewis.

The 'Dreams' hit maker was earlier quoted in 'Star' magazine branding Lewis as a "poor man's Mariah Carey" and also slamming Lewis' mentor Simon Cowell.

"As you all should know, I am an extremely outspoken individual and will say it like it is. But one thing you should know for sure is that I'm not unnecessarily bitchy. Yes, I say things that are close to the bone, but I never have or will say disgusting things about people without just cause," Contactmusic quoted her, as stating in the letter.

Jamelia claimed that the mag's reporter, Dominique Hines, fabricated the quotes.
