| Lindsay snubs Al, Britney buys (and wears) panties
Disheartening news: Lindsay Lohan was a no-show at Al Gore's Seeds of Tolerance event last night. After begging him for image advice and telling event publicists she was definitely coming, she blew off his bash honoring young documentary filmmakers at the Arclight Theatre. Poor Al. The star of the Oscar-seeking eco doc, “An Inconvenient Truth," had to settle for dispensing image-buffing advice to celebrity stand-ins: a pink-haired Rachel McAdams and her multi-nominated "Half Nelson" actor/beau Ryan Gosling, who certainly look like they're taking him seriously. So where was La Lohan? Did her AA meeting run late? .
Monday Morning Box Office: Virgin Pops Metaphorical Box Office Cherry
According to distributor Universal Pictures' exit polling of moviegoers, the "humor" was by far the main reason people saw The 40-Year-Old Virgin, followed by the "story" and Steve Carell. At every every studio's development department, a scene like this one is unfolding: "Humor and story are tracking off the motherfucking charts! And Carell's booked through 2007 now, so we'll have to go with virgins. Say it with me now: 'humor, story, virgins.' The first one of you monkeys to bring me The Untitled Humorstoryvirgins Project gets to keep his job." 2. Red Eye--$16.5 million While we fully recognize that the adorable Rachel McAdams is now America's Sweetheart, we hope she knows the responsibilities that go along with the title: at least one romantic comedy with Tom Hanks (he's due for something cute, preferably involving the internet and the reincarnation of a past love, to take care of the age difference), and then, when her career starts to flag, so much plastic surgery that she's rendered nearly unrecognizable.
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling to elope
Ryan Gosling's Mickey Mouse Club co-stars, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears may life their lives in the public eye, but he is much more content to keep his private life private. Ryan is said to be re-engaged to his The Notebook co-star, Rachel McAdams, however, don't expect these two to share the event with the press like Christina and Britney do. In fact, Ryan and Rachel may even elope! .

Forty-six percent of Engage.com respondents voted to pair recently single Britney Spears with Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom, while 66 percent of voters paired Condoleezza Rice with actor Dennis Haysbert who played President David Palmer of Fox TV's hit show "24." Engage.com is the Internet's first online relationship site where singles connect naturally by inviting their community of family and friends to play matchmakers(TM) for them. With the traditional New Year's kiss just days away, here are a few more suggestions single celebrities might want to consider from Engage.com member matchmakers: Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page were both recently named among Forbes list of Billionaire Bachelors, but which single celebrities do Engage.com users say would make suitable leading ladies? Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice may have been 'singled out' on the public stage by a Russian politician commenting about her relationship status, but matchmakers on Engage.com suggested that she lobby for a date with Dennis Haysbert, the actor who played a TV president: The holiday Celebrity Cast Your Vote(TM) feature will continue on Engage.com through December 29.
