Following confirmation of the split, Witherspoon canceled a string of public engagements to spend time with her family, including an appearance at designer Carolina Herrera's new Los Angeles boutique last month.

Reese Witherspoon leaves Hollywood for South Carolina?

In the wake of filing for divorce from husband Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon has reportedly abandoned Hollywood and moved to Charleston, South Carolina with her two children.

Reese was born in Louisiana and after a brief stint overseas as small child, was raised in Tennessee before moving to California at 18.

But now according to the New York Post, Reese is "disgusted with both marriage and Hollywood."

"[She] believes firmly in her Southern roots. She has taken her children and moved to Charleston, S.C. Both kids are said to be in public school there."

A source claiming to be a friend of Reese's also told In Touch Weekly magazine that Reese is finding her split from Ryan to be harder than she thought and while they still speak several times a week, their conversations are strictly limited to their children, Ava and Deacon: "She's being civil to him, but she's built walls."

The friend added that Reese is trying to put the past behind her but isn't ready to start thinking about dating anyone else just yet: "It's a million miles away from her thoughts."

Brittany Murphy Analyzed By Freud

Just a few hours ago I was sitting on my couch watching Brittany Murphy make out with Reese Witherspoon in an old movie and I wondered, what happened to Brittany Murphy? Reese Witherspoon is off winning Oscars while Brittany is still mostly remembered as that girl who was in that Eminem movie. It doesnt seem fair.

Well shes still working, just not in high profile roles. She had a voice in Happy Feet, and everything else shes done since Sin City falls into the category of overlooked indie. Maybe The White Hotel will raise her profile a little bit. The Hollywood Reporter says shes set to star in it as an opera singer who gets help from Sigmund Freud in post-World War I Vienna. She hallucinates about a white hotel, and becomes one of Freuds most famous case studies, Anne G. Freud helps her unlock her memories and her premonitions of the future, including foreknowledge of the Holocaust.

Rambo rescues aid workers

If you watched "Beyond Borders", "Tears of the Sun" and " Blood Diamond" and still want more, Hollywood has a new aid-world flick for you.

"Rambo IV: In the Serpent's Eye", the latest film with a very tentative humanitarian theme , is now in the making and is due out in 2008, Australian's Age reports.

Here's the plot: Christian human rights missionaries go to Burma to deliver humanitarian aid to Karens, the ethnic minority persecuted by the ruling military junta. They get kidnapped by government forces and that's where Rambo steps in. He goes in with a team of mercenaries to rescue them, leaving his quiet life in neighbouring Thailand behind.

"Beyond Borders", with Angelina Jolie in the main role, is a film that portrays aid workers gun-running for the CIA.
